And as we have done every night, we ended the day with reflection time. Tonight, Ruth and Benno led us in singing Oh, Gracious Light.
O Gracious Light Phos hilaron
O gracious light,
pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of Life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
How can one fully express the joy one feels watching your child experience something so amazing. Getting a glimpse of all that she is doing and seeing through sporadic pictures, posts and snap chats has been amazing. I am fully at ease even with Arden being so very far away. I am in awe of all that the group has accomplished and the love and care that is going in to every nail and brush stroke. The village of people looking after her from Atlanta and Kenya is astounding. The prayers of support I feel from people I don't even know has uplifted me when I've missed her. My sister's text giggling at what her son and my daughter are experiencing together and watching through pictures them coming out of their comfort zones together has been special and bonding. Thank you to the house mother who nourishes my child with food everyday. Thank you for the other group members, young and old who are changing my daughter for good. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers for her safe travels. But most of all thank you Mom, Nancy and Fredrick for changing lives one trip at a time. Arden went on this trip to change the world for the better. I believe it is her life that will be forever altered because of the spirit of life she is experiencing in Kenya. My heart is full.
